Evara: A God’s Gift That Brought Me Back Home

For over a decade, I have dedicated myself to the hospitality management industry—an industry that is far more than a career path for me. It is a passion, a purpose, and a space where I truly thrive. My journey began at Youngstown State University in Ohio, USA, where I majored in Hospitality Management. What followed were fourteen transformative years abroad, working across diverse properties in the United States. I’ve gained experience from the leading brands in the industry such as, The Hampton Inn By Hilton, The Distrikt Hotel a curio collection by Hilton, The Lake Club of Ohio, Hilton Garden Inn and The Holiday Inn Express, IHG. Each experience refined my skills, broadened my perspective, and shaped the professional I am today.
What has always driven me is the simple yet profound joy of being part of people’s journeys—ensuring their comfort, contributing to their celebrations, and witnessing the smiles that mark a memorable stay or a successful event. That human connection is the heartbeat of hospitality, and it continues to inspire me every day.
After years away from home, I felt a growing desire to return to Nepal—not just to come back, but to give back. With the knowledge and confidence gained abroad, I envisioned a way to elevate Nepal’s presence on the global map while honoring the cultural identity closest to my heart: Newari culture. With the support of my family, this vision took shape in the form of a Newari-themed boutique hotel.
This dream found its name in Evara, a Sanskrit word meaning God’s gift. The moment I discovered the name, it felt profoundly fitting. Returning to Nepal after so many years—reuniting with my family, rediscovering my roots, and building something meaningful on my own soil—truly felt like a gift from above. Evara became more than just the name of a hotel; it became a symbol of gratitude. A reminder that life had brought me full circle, giving me the chance to bring my experiences home and create something that honors both my profession and my heritage.
This project is built on a deep personal mission—to share Nepal’s rich heritage with the world and to highlight the elegance, history, and culinary artistry of Newari tradition. By blending authentic cultural elements with refined hospitality standards, I aim to create an experience that celebrates Nepal while meeting the expectations of modern travelers.
At its core, is more than a business. It is a homecoming, a tribute to my roots, and a platform to showcase the beauty of Nepal and the elaborate tapestry of Newari culture, tradition, and cuisine. My hope is that every guest who walks through our doors leaves with a deeper appreciation for Nepal—its warmth, its stories, and its soul.

Warmly,
